Georgina Cousin

Translation & Tuition

Georgina translates from French to English in a variety of technical and institutional areas eg. education, equestrianism and wine.

Georgina is a thorough and patient tutor of French from Key Stage 3 to GCSE and A level.

She has over 15 years experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages to all levels in English secondary schools.  She is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Specialised Translation (French-English) at the University of Westminster, due to graduate Autumn 2018.

Working

Working with Georgina, you may either follow a prescribed curriculum for your exam board, or bring specific questions arising from your lessons, depending upon your requirements.  You will speak French every lesson and make excellent progress.

Georgina works with a variety of published resources and her own tried and tested materials.

We use the best available online dictionaries to improve your research skills and grammatical knowledge, alongside traditional resources, games and proven learning strategies.

Tuition

Georgina tutors French for key stage 3 and GCSE.  She is familiar with the new GCSE French requirements for first examination in June 2018.

Georgina can teach the new A’ level syllabi for first examination in 2018. 

At A’ Level, we work on: literary texts, translation and grammar in context, presentation and discussion skills, essay planning and writing, francophone culture and relevant history.

Conversational French

Do you want to brush up on your spoken French?  Do you have a special trip planned or an exam to prepare?  Need some help knowing your 'tu' from your 'vous'?

Biography

Georgina is a native Londoner who loves language learning.  She has been a secondary school teacher of French since 1999, with experience of teaching Spanish and German. Over the years she has enthusiastically and patiently guided many students to success at GCSE and A Level.

 Keen to keep her language skills on point, Georgina is enjoying her part-time Masters degree in Specialised Translation at the University of Westminster.  This is a natural fit with freelance tuition, translation and other work.

 Alongside her professional and intellectual pursuits, Georgina is a wife, mother of two children, and enjoys photography and horse riding.
